Lethal Artificial Intelligence and Change: The Future of International Peace and Security

The paper recently published in International Studies Review debates on the preventive security governance frameworks that states should adopt to cope with the introduction of Artificial Intelligence in war. The paper examines 22 treaties created to establish new regimes of prohibition or control of weapons systems. Despite the emerging rules in this field, governments should implement alternative governance structures to counteract the autonomous weapons systems, that may be disruptive for peace and security.
