Google's Ideological Echo Chamber

  • Authors: Damore, James

  • 2017

Abstract

In this 'manifesto' former Google employee James Damore claims women have lower tolerance of stress and that conservatives are more conscientious, using this to explore Google's hiring policy and the reasons why there are fewer women than men working in tech. The manifesto was leaked in August 2017 and caused debate about discrimination in the tech industry, and led to James Damore being fired from Google.
